To my dearest Ashley

I don't think that words are going to be enough for this page.

But that is all I have right now, so I will continue.

Ashley is and has always been the highlight of my life. She was born July 22, 1983 at 1:13 p.m. weighing in at 6lbs 3oz. and 22 inches long. No hair, blue eyes and soft tender skin. She was perfect in every way. And, although she is now a teen-ager (fifteen) she is still perfect in my eyes. She now has long brown hair brown eyes (green OR blue with contacts) and is gorgeous.

As I write this I sit and think of all the things that we have been through together. We've had a real blast. As she has grown from a baby to a young lady now I must say that things get more complicated. She is about to start driving. (and that is frightening) She has a boyfriend. But, as I think back, Ashley has always had a boyfriend. (laughs) She will be 16 in July and will be able to date. (another cringe) I've always told her though that if she gets in a situation that she needs to get out of to call me and I'll come and get her; NO QUESTIONS ASKED! That's my promise to YOU - Ash. I love you.

Well, Ashley, my sweet daughter, I only have one thing to say, "I love you more with each and every passing day." Didn't have any idea that a love could be this strong. I'm so glad that we've become as close as we have and it's all done with God guiding us. Without God; we wouldn't have such a great relationship that we do. We can talk about anything. Yes; anything. I'm full aware that a child doesn't tell their parents 'everything'. But as for me and my child; we have a very strong bond and I pray it stays this way or grows even stronger.

She will be in the 11th grade when school starts again. Just seems like yesterday I was holding her in my lap taking her home from the hospital. And I remember the exact thing I was thinking....it was...'wow, I'm a MOM now'. I've got a responsiblity for at least the next 18 years. But ya know what? My responsiblity will last not 18 years; but a lifetime.

God bless you Ashley in all that you do and may God favor you each and everyday in all that you do.
